Vintage Inspired Christmas with Tara Starlet

Vintage Inspired Christmas with Tara Starlet

A couple of weeks ago I went along to the Tara Starlet Xmas blogger party and Oh my goodness… this event really was the reindeer’s b***ocks!  We played dress-up with the Tara Starlet Autumn/Winter styles, had vintage locks and retro make-up applied by Pretty Me Vintage.  There was a Xmasy spread laid out for us and after we had consumed a few Martini cocktails…posed for a little photoshoot.

Miss Tara Starlet herself, she really is one of the most bubbly and friendly people you will ever met and completely gorgeous.  We talked about vintage style and how we both popped in and out of retro inspired looks.  She explained how some of the styles she reproduces from vintage items would either be impossible to find in mint conditions, or if you did…they would cost a fortune.

I waited patiently for it to be my turn in the Pretty Me Vintage chair and wondered what I should have done. I would naturally say the Veronica Lake peek-a-boo retro waves, but this time I decided to try a little up do.  Love, love love…I wish I could do it myself.

I was wearing wool sailor slacks which are the most flattering trousers I have ever worn! I am actually wearing a tweed pair in the previous Cinderala B post.  Also the oriental inspired bamboo blouse..pure luxe. The statement necklace is from Nelly and the shoes are also from Nelly.  The dress was actually what I got to take home and was a gorgeous party dress with a 50s silhouette.

  1. You look so beautiful here! I know I always say it, but retro looks like this really suit you, you have one of those faces that looks like you could have stepped right out of the 50′s! Your hair looks so amazing like this. Seems like you all had a brilliant time & love the black dress you got too! :)

    • haha my mums cousin said that to me the other day. Hmmm maybe I should audition for wartime movies ;) thanks doll xx

  2. Ahhh all your blogger events look like so much fun! Everyone looks gorgeous in these pictures :) I wish I could concoct a fabulous updo like that (or at least pull off red lipstick and a 50s cat eye)! PS the blouse/high waisted trouser combo is ultra chic (and looks super comfy too) — I might have to try that one of these days!

    • I never used to think I could wear a red lip, its only the last couple of years. The trousers are SO comfy and so warm, I hardly feel the cold wearing them xx

  3. Wow! You look amazing! There is something about vintage style that really suits, the hair is perfect and to be honest I think you are the most adorable in all the photos :)

  4. Wow, everyone looks amazing! This makes me feel like i should definitely spend some time holed up in my bathroom learning to style my hair as anything other than a beachy mop. haha.
