A nod to mod! 60s inspiration

I think I have jumped on two of the biggest trends of this season here… monochrome and 60s inspired. I know turtlenecks are a bit more 70s, but the way I have worn the dress more as a pinafore and the accessories feel very mod 60s. Although my nan who I visited today wearing this suggested that tights would have been a no go! bare legs all the way back in the days.

These photos are actually taken in two separate places. I wore nearly this exact outfit at day one of LFW, but I didn’t have any long shots that I particularly liked.  I decided to wear this outfit today again for a family meal and Mr Memoir Mode took a few shots beforehand.

When the temperatures start to rise (soon please) I might take my nans advise and wear without tights.  Also I am thinking it would look great with a t-shirt underneath and flats, or simply on its own for a night out in the summer.

I am slightly pear shaped and skirts and dresses that flare away rather than cling are more flattering for my shape. The only time I would wear something tight on the bottom, is when I am wearing something over-sized on top. It balances out the my narrow shoulders with the larger hips.  I think I want to touch on what I wear to compliment the pear shape at some point on Memoir Mode.

Keep in touch!

    • far to cold for no tights now haha :) I did try on darker tights before, but it looked like I was wearing a dress over a catsuit LOL x

  1. This is such a cute look Kylie! I love that the monochrome/60′s look is a huge trend again & loove those boots! My nan always says similar to me because I’m always wearing tights ‘Ohh, that would look so much better with your legs out!’ Hah! I’m a slight pear too, though I have really wide shoulders so it balances it out a little.
